Anica Marcum is the founder of The Hollow Grief Collaborative, an organization dedicated to helping workplaces create compassionate, inclusive bereavement policies and grief-informed environments. Her passion for this work stems from personal experience—Anica lost her mother in 2004 at the age of 20, an event that reshaped her life and eventually inspired her career path.
With a bachelor's degree in Human Resources and over six years of dedicated grief work in both education and operations, Anica brings a unique blend of HR expertise and deep understanding of bereavement. She is currently completing her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and will graduate in December 2025, further expanding her capacity to support individuals and organizations through grief and loss.
Anica considers her most important role as being a wife and mother of 2.. Through The Hollow Grief Collaborative, she bridges personal healing, professional insight, and advocacy to help employers meet grief with humanity and informed care.
